Hello internet world, my name is Kirsten Schnell, and yes that is a lemon meringue pie in my hands. I baked it with my grandma (husbands grandma to be exact).
I have always loved to bake. Some of my earliest memories are baking something, usually pies, with my grandma. My aspirations for baking made themselves known in high school. I enjoyed the idea of making something look and tasted good. I took cake decorating classes, wrote articles in my school newspaper about the local cupcake shops, and got into a Culinary Arts school. Still, I wasn't sure if this career was for me. Many people told me about how hard it would be, and how I would have to sacrifice a lot for this dream. I ended up deciding to go to a state college to get my BA and then figure out life from there.
So, here I am, four years later, with a BA in Art History, and I still want to bake. Now graduated, my hope is to bake more items I haven't experiment with, and to bake on a constant level. My Goal: To bake something sweet once a week. It will be difficult, but I know that practice does make perfect, and with God's will I want to be the best. I would love to have you with me through this journey of possible burns, and mistakes. Still, I am eager to learn and grow.
Stay Sweet,
Kirsten Schnell
